Andrew Flakelar has spent most of his career in New York, but now divides his time between there and his home town of Sydney, Australia.

His passion for visually dynamic narrative storytelling has been the driving force behind campaigns for Audi, Philips, Converse, Google and music videos for Scottish trio CHVRCHES, Jewel, James Blunt and other projects with the likes of Oprah, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Cindy Crawford and Jay-Z.

An avid conversationalist and raconteur, his skills as an interviewer add another dimension to his cinematic storytelling, whether with high profile celebrities or man on the street. His skill in drawing out not just story beats and brand messaging, but authenticity, emotion and connection, are what sets his films apart.

The emotive short documentary The Art of Boxing has screened internationally, including the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, NewFilmmakers Los Angeles, the Montreal International Black Film Festival, the Bronx International Film Festival and won Best Cinematography at the Bondi Short Film Festival in Sydney, Australia.
